Filipino security professionals showed me their firearms, all safety checked and unloaded. The security professionals did not want to be interviewed. They stayed off camera and were safety officers during filming. Philippines has a gun culture. Shooting sports are popular, and accepted like any other sports activity. There are professional security, police, and military personnel who own firearms for their work. Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental Province. B Adventures: Philippines Season 2, Episode (14/44).

Took a look at a variety of licensed firearms:
Custom 1911 .45 pistol (local PI and US parts built by gunsmith).
Colt marked M16 A1 Carbine. I did not have enough info at the time and the model markings were covered by the magwell grip modification and faded with patina. I think it was a Colt CAR-15 or Model 653 carbine. They were common in the Philippines and even manufactured under license in the 1980′s.
M4 airsoft replica, just for fun and training purposes.
Norinco NP-34 9mm pistol (Sig Sauer P228 / M11 clone).
GUN SAFETY (ESPECIALLY FOR NEW SHOOTERS & TOURISTS):
(1) Assume every firearm is loaded.
(2) Never let the muzzle cover anything you are not willing to destroy (always point in a safe direction).
(3) Keep your finger OFF the trigger until your sights are on the target.
(4) Be sure of your target and what is beyond it.
(5) Remember to wash you hands and face thoroughly with soap after shooting or handling ammunition to remove lead and toxic residue.
