Changing a bicycle chain is something every cyclist needs to know how to do

As part of GCN’s Maintenance Monday show, we show you how to test if your chain is stretched and needs replacing, and then how to use a chain tool to break your chain and replace it.
Replacing your chain regularly generally means that you don’t need to replace your more expensive cassette as frequently, and it improves the life of your whole chainset. If you are changing your cassette you’ll need to ensure the length of your chain is correct, something that we’ll cover in another video.
