Replacing bathroom sink traps are an easy do it yourself project.
You will need an adjustable pliers or a pipe wrench to remove the old nuts. You will need to pick up a new trap and possibly a wall tube and extension pipe. In the bathroom, the size for the drain pipe is 1 1/4″. If you are changing the trap and the wall tube and want to have all new nuts, check the size of the nut going into the wall. It could be 1 1/4 or 1 1/2.
