Quick video short on how to PROPERLY install a replacement seat belt stop button. A stopper button is found on almost every seatbelt in the modern car. The stop button is installed into the webbing of your car’s seatbelt to provide a convenient “stopping” spot for the buckle when it isn’t being used. Due to age or the occasional slamming of your seatbelt in your car’s door the stopper button can get damaged and contrary to popular believe you DO NOT need to replace the entire seatbelt. This part is user replaceable but there is a special yet simple technique on how to properly install this part.
There is lots of misinformation on how to properly install this part including bad information from the dealership.
The technique I show in my video is similar to how the factory assembles the stoppers onto the belts.
Simple tools needed are:
Replacement seat belt stop button
Flat headed nail
Pliers or preferably vice grip/channel lock pliers
Propane torch or lighter
An assistant (optional)
