This tutorial will show how to make a stylish crystal earrings. It is something easy to do and everyone can put their style on them as they please.
For this Tutorial, you will need:
2 17mm Swarovski Crystal Wild Hearts pendants in color Astral Pink
4 inches 20 gauge wire
24 inches 22 or 24 gauge wire
Here are the recommended tools to make the earrings:
Chasing hammer
Bench block or anvil
wire cutters
bail making pliers with 7mm mandrel
round nose pliers
chain nose pliers
file or cup burr
Creating the pendant:
Cut a 12 inch piece of the finer gauge wire. Center one of the crystal hearts on a wire. Send the ends of the wire back through the hole. Careful, this is crystal, it can crack! Snug that wire, bring the two wires up so they meet above the heart.Use, chain nose pliers to give a bend right at the top of the heart. Grab wires with round nose pliers to make a simple loop. Bend around so it’s at a 90 degree angle.
Use round nose pliers to bend it back. Hold on to the loop with chain nose pliers and hold on to the wires. Just hold two wires until it gets difficult to hold on to them and then use a pair of chain nose pliers to hold them. Do a whole series of messy wraps above the heart.
Trim off the excess. Straighten out the loop, especially if they are tangled. Use a file if there are ends sticking out.
Creating ear wires:
Cut 2 inch piece of the 20 gauge wire. Use a file to smoothen the wire out. On one of the ends of the wires, use the round nose pliers to make a loop until it touches itself. Make sure to make those wires at the same time to make sure that they are similar. Put the loops right over the 7mm bail making pliers. Wrap the cable around the pliers. Use long nose pliers to bend the earring and use the widest part of the plier to measure the amount to bend back. To make sure that ear wires hold up their shape, you can hammer them down on an anvil or a bench block. Use chain nose pliers to twist the loop open, insert one of the wire wrap parts and close it up. Viola! You have a stylish crystal earrings!
