Day seventeen gets started with final installation of upper cabinets above the sink. We used IKEA Sektion cabinets that were custom altered for our needs. After getting the upper cabinets in place, I work on installing a GFCI electric box and wire up IKEA Omlopp LED lights in the cabinets. Next, Neil gets started on installing the granite kitchen counter tiles. We used Custom Building Products’ Marble, Granite and Travertine mortar to set the tiles. I work on installing drawers, shelves and doors for the IKEA Sektion cabinets. We chose the IKEA MA series drawers, with the dampers. Once the counter top is set, Neil moves on to installing the granite edge rails.

Newer style fuel rails have what are called “push locks”. The line fitting locks into place in the rail and you need a “specialty tool” to remove it….supposedly. Here is a quick and dirty trick to unhook those suckers using two zip ties in about 10 seconds.
