This is a solution for getting difficult braided stainless steel hose all the way to the threads of AN fittings. Some of the hoses seem to be stiffer or slightly larger in circumference, making them harder to fully install. The smaller sizes in particular are troublesome because it’s hard to get a good grip on them. This tip is also works for nylon braided hose, which can be difficult to install as well.
Koul Tools manufactures an assortment of hose assembly and hard line sealing specialty tools for industrial, automotive, marine, motorcycle, and aircraft plumbing operations.

Hi! My name is Dick Raczuk and I invented the Koul tool. At the recent PRI and SEMA shows we had some customers come up and complain a little bit about how hard it is to push the hose all the way to the threads of the nut.
I’ve come up with a solution. Come along and check this out.
Okay, to get this hose assembly started, we’re going to grab our Koul tool, stick the nut into the Koul tool, and then we’ll clamp it up in the vise.
Take our little fuzzy ended hose, it doesn’t matter how fuzzy it is now days, and we’ll gently twist her in and you can feel it getting tighter.
So at this point I am going to take it out and I’m going to show you how to get it all the way to the end of those threads.
Now the standard procedure, which I’ve used for years, is to get the nut, stick it into the vise jaws, and push the hose in.
Well, the smaller the hose, the harder it is to do that. Let me show you what I’ve come up with, a little different idea.
Install your vise jaws and then clamp the hose tightly in the jaws.
Now we’re going to take a conventional palm wrench, and the appropraite socket for the nut, and twist it on.
Okay, now we’ll install the socket onto the palm wrench, and start twisting her on. Look how easy that goes on. You’re not trying to grab a little piece of skinny hose.
There we are! We’re all honed out.
This little tip will work on all size hoses, even up to -20.
I hope this tip helps you out and makes your life a lot easier. Thanks for watching.
