I decided to USE Okuma’s Steelhead/Salmon Fishing Rods for night & day fishing in Hawaii. Have a 7’9″ with a Shimano Stradic CI4 3000 w/4lb Trilene & 10’9″ with a Stradic CI4 4000 w/8lb Trilene. Only thing i can say is these are amazing light-weight rods that can handle fish with ease! Plus i’m getting superb casting distance as well. I highly recommend these models to any serious advanced/beginner angler. Multitude of lengths & power ratings to choose from. I’m using homemade Hawaiian Style flies with “Scuba Blues” extended soft glow grubs provided by Landon Yamamoto’s “Completely Hooked Lures”(on FB). The choice of using an ultra violet light emitter at night was 2 fold, you don’t spook the fish by intense flashes of visible white light & the ultra-violet makes the grub glow brighter & stronger with no visible light flashes to the fish.
