In this review we take a close look at the Leatherman MUT Military Utility Tool in the stainless steel version with molle brown sheath. This is a tactical multi-tool is aimed at military / law enforcement professionals as well as serious shooters who need the ability to quickly field service their fire arms. The Leatherman MUT has the same features that you would expect to find an any heavy duty leatherman multi tool such as the needlenose pliers with replaceable 154CM wire cutters and a nicely shaped combo edge 420HC knife blade on the exterior of the tool for easy one handed access, for the record I prefer two blades, one plan edge, one fully serrated. But on this tool Leatherman need to make room for 3 other externally accessible tools such as the full sized saw, a fire arm disassembly punch and the wicked looking bronze carbon scraper/AWL. On the back end of the tool you have a lockable handle for safe transport, a web cutter that works very well compared to some of the other web cutters I’ve tried in the past. Also on the backside MUT multi tool you will find a traditional looking 2 dimensional screwdriver bit, but Leatherman has a trick up its sleeve this multi tool, hidden in the handle are two more long shanked screwdriver bits which is awesome. Most multi tools don’t offer this with an include bit kit to keep with your sheath yet alone in the handle in the multi tool itself. Everything about this tool is well thought out and is made to last, from the beefy pocket clip and caribiner to the large oversize plier heads. This multi-tool should last you a lifetime.
All in all this multi tool is a little on the expensive side when compared to more civilian tools such as the Leatherman Surge, but if you’re looking for a rugged, heavy duty tactical multi tool that can keep up with you and take care of your firearms when you push them to the limit, this is the multi tool for you.

I show you how I remove old or unwanted J-clips from a wire cage. I used straight-cut, right handed tin snips and needle nose pliers. J-clips are strong pieces of steel and very hard to simply cut in two, but with some time and effort, you can reuse the wire from cages that are held together by them.
There is no talking because I didn’t feel like it, but there are a lot of dogs barking in the distance. It’s rabbit season, and the day was nice, so there were hunters all over the woods with their hounds. This is the normal ambiance of my home.
