This video is about the improvements made to the arc furnace since the first iron casting. I built a wood-and-aluminum arc furnace handle that lets me pick it up and pour out the molten iron (or any other metal) without having to handle the furnace with my gloved hands.

I also made thick handles for the locking pliers that hold the carbon rod electrodes. These prevent me from burning myself by holding them directly during the melting.

The work improving the arc furnace paid off, because I cast iron again, much more successfully this time. I didn’t burn myself (unlike last time), and the handle let me pour out all the liquid iron quickly and smoothly.

Although the casting once again failed (I was making an Fe tile like the Cu tile shown in the previous video), I achieved a much better partial casting than the first time. I believe that pouring into an open-face mold will lead to a successful casting.
