How to bodge a 0.1″ crimp connection with pliers if you don’t have a crimping tool
Jump rings are essential in jewelry making for attaching components together especially with closure.
1. Take your pliers (chain or flat nose-flat nose are better for preventing scratches) one in each hand, and grab each end of the jump ring where it opens.
2. Pull one end away and one end towards you NOT spreading them apart. If you do spread them apart, you can push them back together making sure to make the ends pass each other from right to left creating a bit of a springy tension that makes it secure.
3. Once your jump ring is open, loop the end of the chain link and the tiny loop on your clasp onto the jump ring and close securely making sure both ends are flush and lined up without any space.
4. And there you go! You have a properly attached jump ring.
